tell me about FM please

Beacons are legal, and they are one-way communications.
Broadcast, is also one-way.
Not sure how they justify the legality of one vs. the other.

Anyways, FM is fine for local ground-wave communication.
But if you try to use that for skip, its at a disadvantage due to it gets easily distorted by skip fading. Where AM and SSB are not as effected.

hello I gotta know every thing about theese cbs so I ask alot of ????? what about fm is it fun to mess with? are there any advantages? can I use my 1x4 fatboy on FM? can I leave my dosy in line? thanks in advance fellas for all the info.. and I forgot should swr stay the same? hope yall can clear this up for me thanks

FM doesn't cut through noise worth a damn and the audio on a typical Export Radio is rather anemic, but clean. 99% of Export Radio users don't bother with FM.....it's worthless. The only way it could be OK is if you are bumper talking.

I use FM simplex, I use the proper microphone for FM, there is no noise on my FM radios when the squelch is properly set, so it's of great value to me and mine, I regularly talk 75 miles plus with only 50 watts mobile bumper to mobile bumper on 11 meters.
