When you turn it on, do you just get static, with no voice audio present?
Let me know if this is the case.
~Cheers~
The transistor that amplifies the signal in the preamp is bad. The transistor is a 2N2907(A). Replace it, and the preamp will work as normal. It's a common problem with the Texas Star amps. You can get the transistor at the local Radio Scrap store if you have one near you. Good luck!

No need to replace D2, just the transistor. Should be good to go!

you should receive 2 of them. bending the legs is the hardest part. its pretty straight forward how to replace them. just take a picture so you get the transistor right.
