I was born in '83, and I cant stand most of the music mentioned thus far. I think Clapton and CCR are the only ones I actually like. I like my music to be interesting and have depth. Think Blood Sweat And Tears or Jethro Tull type where it is a hodge podge of different sounds that are put together and sounds amazing.

Anytime I want to demo audio gear, Locomotive Breath in FLAC is always my first track. CSNY, The Who, Bob Dylan and Canned Heat are some that I really enjoy.

Interesting being born years after those bands had their heyday, you would be listening to it.

If it was good back then, it should be good today!

Here's my song contribution to the thread,

Bye Bye Miss American pie, drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry… and good o'l boys were drinking whiskey and rye…singing this will be the day that I die.

Obviously its a classic, but I immediately recalled Vincent was on that album and that song still sparks new thoughts and ideas when I hear it.

I have a Pioneer SX-750 that needs some attention. I really like the sound of that thing, and I really should rip into it. I just setup a stereo at the house that has been in storage for a few years. My twins were 2 or 3 when the poked out the tweeters and crushed the caps of the woofers on my Paradigm monitor 5's. My wife told me she was actually worried at the time that I might beat the children. I guess I was pretty mad?

I remember the first time I heard "Sunshine of your love" by Cream from the "Disraeli Gears" album. I thought this is a modern piece of art that will live a long life.
Well in my heart it did. It was my favorite ear worm. I can still play it with gusto.

Good then and just as good now. One thing I feel sorry for the current music aficionados there are no love songs to your lady,(That I know of) unless you listen to country and western. Even then the old stuff is still better. Jim Reeves had some of the best, "Hawaiian Wedding Song" is one of the greats. I sang that to one of my ladies when we were getting married. Not a dry eye in the house.
