The perfect whackertard CB radio!!

I bet that radio is built like a sherman tank, looks like a neat old school radio. Don't forget back in the day everyone and their brother made a cb radio. Sears, Wards, JC Penny, Kraco, Sparkomatic, K40, Motorola, Teaberry, Royce just to name afew. Some look pretty funny.

What is the IF gain function on this radio?

" ...... There is a feature on the radio that I have not seen on another CB; an IF gain. It also has the standard RF gain. Between these two features the back ground noise can be eliminated. The noise blanker is also variable. ...... "

about 2/3s down the page ....

I'd like to have it just because it says "Electroscan" on the front. :D

Looks like a cool radio!

I read that. Let me rephrase the question.

What is IF, and how does gaining some eliminate background noise?

I found this:
IF Amplifier Tutoral - Radio Terminology Bibliography - Electronics Hobby Circuits and Tutorials - IF Amplifier

Seems to me that it's almost like a variable "filter" if you will. Maybe someone more technically gifted can explain it better than the article.

I know that I often turn down my RF gain and turn the volume up and am able to receive stations that were stuck in the noise level with the RF gain wide open.
