Just my opinion, but I have always thought this looked pretty cool. Where do I get the parts and info to try this mod?

Thanks Guys, and please, no flame outs.LOL.

This thread is back from the dead I see. Does anyone have an update on what cb shop will do this mod and what radio's it works on? What would the cost be? I called and e-mailed a number of shops and they all said no we don't do that. Just trying here to see if it's a realistic option for extra channels or not. Kinda stepping back and give it a chance without a big pissing match.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I had a Texas Ranger 696 FDI done up with a Viagra board but it did not like the cold winter weather and would drift like a Galaxy 99. Thought I would keep an open mind on "the mod" but thats answers that question. Thanks Loosecannon.

Finaly a better way !!!!

Hi All,

There's a better way to expand your radio, without the hustle of complicated disassembly of the channel selector!!!!!
Smaller in footprint (most radios don't have much room in them for additional circuit)
Only solder 10 wires and the DigiMax Lite channel mod will do all the rest.
The mod will fit most PLL02A radios (MB8719 and UPD858 and many others coning shortly).
DigiMax Lite supports coverage from 24.855MHz to 29.515MHz (depends on your radio model).

Check it out , follow the link to DigiMax Lite

so there is a new revision of the mod being made now? is db still going to support the 11.3825 crystal or do we have to stick with the 11.1125 swap. i have always been more interested in higher 10m phone coverage and the 11.3 crystal gave me that.

Farmer Dave has done it again! The new "Mod" board is smaller and simpler to install and does chan. scanning! The only "Mod" I know of where you can wire an external remote as well like I did on my Cobra 2000. For the Cobra 2000 it also comes with a new led light kit mounted on a pcb board. He continuously revises and updates the product. Check it out on the yahoo groups.
