Sending mine back for a check of the high AM dk issue. With 2w on radio I was getting like 250w amp dk. Way to high, in my opinion. SSB seems to be working fine. Has AB bias put in for SSB.
I don't know how amps work so I don't know is there is such thing as just an AM circuit and then SSB circuit.

Update.
Just sent today back for a look. The 2w dk getting a 250w dk on AM was really eating at me. SSB seemed to have swung just fine.
Wondering if AM section needs a "tune" as well. My SWR was wacky. Could have been RF harmonics playing hell with the SWR. Doesn't explain the high DK.
He should get it back Monday. Hopefully he figures it out.

I agree it's too high especially at 2 watts. Been a long time, but my 1x4 did not have a carrier of 250 watts with a 2 watt dead key. Sounds like something got loose during shipment. It happens.
So did your issue in your amp get solved to your satisfaction? If so what was the cause?

Ok. He sent me a video of my unit. 5w dk on his bird showed 100w amp dk. 8w dk and amp on showed 200w amp dk.
Mentioned my meter might be off. I'm thinking this darn A99 that doesn't like power since day one is the issue. I have ferrite beads just outside the shack wall and a choke up top by the feed point as well.
Thinking stray RF is kicking my meter up showing me a fake amp dk.
Thoughts?? I don't have a 300w or even 100w dummy load here to try this with.
Otherwise I'm hoping my Sirio 2016 gets straightened out quick (aka final piece gets here so I can put that up) and maybe that will eliminate all this nonsense.

Glad you got it checked out, and it's doing what it's supposed to be doing. Sending a video is very good customer service. Anyway, at least the amp is doing what it's supposed to be doing.
meter has been dead on since I got it. Never ran that much power thru it. Last top amount was like 300w with the old Palomar 400.
I leave it at like 3-4w dk when on AM mode which I don't run that often.
like I said SSB is mainly where I hang and that seems to be reading correctly.
