Ok what is a good Christian ??
There are two answers to that.
First, is that this gov't is called a 'Christian nation'. So therefore, Christians get the blame for what the gov't does - regardless if it is brutal or warlike to preserve its freedom. In reality, this gov't has allowed ALL beliefs into this country. It is just that the founding fathers came here for two reasons: to escape England's malevolent king, and for religious freedom - for the most part.
One of which was the oppression of beliefs and tyrannical rule under kings that were more totalitarian in their rule. Read up on Oliver Cromwell to get the big picture. But we are called a Christian nation because the primary belief system is Christian. But this is not just black and white either, because Catholicism, Lutheranism, Anglicanism, and Calvinism is a mix that don't agree on basic biblical doctrine. The US is also made up of Mormons, Buddhists, Muslims, and Jews. SO, all the above in proportion are involved in it defense, judicial, legislation, and rule.
Christians - real born again Christians - are to pray for those in authority over them, obey the laws, and pay their taxes. There is a separation of church and state in this country that was placed in the Bill of Rights so that the gov't acts on its own accord to protect its own but not abridge religious rights and to remain neutral to that extent. It is not fair to call the belief system of that gov't 'Christian' per se - other than the fact that it allows it to exist in freedom and it is the gov'ts job to keep the principles that they agreed upon when they formed this nation. It is an agreement that guarantees all of these truths to be self-evident. We say are a Christian nation because it is primarily the largest group that exists under gov't supervision.
But Communism has been around and found roots in
every gov't before the Russian takeover. If you don't think so, look at old films of Hitler's political rallies that had banners up in the stadiums saying 'Free us of Bolshevism' ('Bolshevism' was the termed used for the 'communists'). In truth, Hitler started his political career as a street fighter ('bricks, bottles, and bombs') against the street fighting Bolshevists that were upsetting and undermining gov'ts all over Europe doing precisely the same things - and worse. Looking at the history of the 20th century we see Russia behind setting the fires and fanning the flames of war so that it would either take countries by undermining them; or facing war to stop their efforts.
The warlike nature of the US can be rightfully blamed on one concept - fighting Communism.
It acts in its own defense - rightly so.
