thoughts on this radio

The EU CB crowd is most likely their primary market.. They are permitted to legally use FM. I'm sure they want to sell to US CB'er as well, hence AM. As a ham I have no use for a 10/12 meter AM/FM radio.
so this will work in the US? and if i want, no interest as of now, i can get my beginners license and use the 10/12 correct
the reason i am interested in this is i really like the looks and dont need one of the big truckers radio. all my talking will be done close as in construction

Other than the price it's a no brainer. The Yeticom Optima is a more versatile radio. It's also made of semi-obtanium, unlike the Stryker which is still unobtanium
The only thing the Stryker is good for in the USA is CB / AM mode. It's worthless if you were to get your US amateur license.

Simon sez it's based on the Qixiang Apollo II. Also marketed as the CRT-2000 across the pond. Power rating is up from those models. The display is nice. No sideband though.

I wonder how wide the audio will be? Did Stryker get the memo...we want wide band AM audio please thank you!
