Most think they know, “What is CB Radio?”, and
they don’t.
I could give a hooey about others technical proficiency when I’ve said that. However admirable in this instance (Radio), it has a
zero compass-bearing as to what’s important. Spin-the-dial stupidity (as ignorance can’t be claimed).
Remember, these are “men” who allow TV in their homes. That cancels any statement about what’s societally-worthy and what isn’t.
Boobus Americanus (per Mencken) isn’t prohibited from nose-to-grindstone focus & ability . . just the larger picture into which we all have to fit. The “opinion” he’s issued,
not the wisdom God made him capable.
Thus:
1). Be thought a fool, or open ones mouth and settle any doubts

2). Believe any & all lies (CV-19) AND STILL FAIL to recognize the need for “skills” (Radio; here) which fosters trade & neighborliness among citizens,
not to mention commercial applications. Where has Mr Pumpkin Head made CB more practical for all around him? He hasn’t (as he’s not any sort of citizen).

Let’s finish this off quick: the cretins and the morally-unfit whom they follow (ARRL) can’t be bothered to PROMOTE the use of a tool existing maybe in the millions of units across the USA. Arrogance or ignorance matter not.
Instead they cancel their own events versus work-out HOW to use Radio to buy, sell, trade among citizens.

The single largest job classification existing.
Good luck making a Class 8 tractor radio install perform to spec.
The number of pickup trucks and vans AT WORK exceeds even this.

What Radio type do your neighbors possess, and how have you helped them? Their families and yours. (It matters little what you operate, it’s matters EVERYTHING what you and your neighbors share.
That you can do more is THEIR asset, not yours).
