To those that have shipped their rigs in for tune up / repairs

It is a pyramid 52 amp. Did not know that thank you for the info(y)
I suggest you check specs on that one. It's the average or continuous power that needs to be within range of your needed amperage draw. Nearly all P/S are marketed and labled as peak power and the average power can be up to 25% less.

My guess is your 52 amp psu is rated at 35 amps continuous giving you 17 amps of headroom. A 500 watt amp would be real close to the limit.

I should note that a 500 watt amp with Class C efficiency is what I'm referring to. An A/B class that's typically up to 60% efficiency would probably fall short.

Just wondering, apart from the note inside detailing what the issues are etc and good solid boxing and padding is there anything else one should look out for when posting a cb in for repairs or allignment? Would putting masking tape on it like those in the youtube videos be "gay"?
I would suggest sending the microphone along with the radio. If the microphone is the problem they will not be able to diagnose or be able to duplicate your problem.
I'm sorry I thought I read the entire post. Low power output would not be caused by a microphone problem. At least I don't think so. I would still send the microphone with the radio. If for no other reason than to keep them plugging in a non-standard mike into my radio. Be sure to include a Packing list in the package with the mike model etc. listed and serial number of the radio.
