I have seen a tower for sale with a beam or two on it 40' tall big beam on top and need to take down for purchase.can I weld a hinge on it and cut it and lay it down? It has guy ropes. Or
Just need a dump truck.its a six element beam too bad not worth the pain.I once took down a 50 footer using a friend's dump truck. We backed the truck up to the tower, and raised the dump bed straight up. Strapped the tower securely to the bed, torched the base plate mounting bolts, and slowly lowered it down. Blew the bolts out between the tower sections, piled them into the truck bed, and drove home. Only took about an hour. Quick and dirty and safe.

I was thinking about using a big tractor with a loader on the front, but a dump truck would be perfect.I once took down a 50 footer using a friend's dump truck. A manlift with a 60' boom should work. But be prepared to fork up some $$$$'s. I'd stay away from that tow behind mantis type, accident waiting to happen. I'm certified for all, including the Ultra Boom 135. After 30 years these have come a long way in satfey.
