i connected a siltronix 90-3 vfo. to Tram #1 i removed the ch23 crystal, and soldered the center of the cable to the bottom (power side) of the channel 23 socket and grounded it away from the socket.Going through the vfo on ch23 I tuned c711 and c712. On am it is getting 1 1/2 watts and a swings to 3watts on ssb it is swinging about 2watts. the reading off the vfo on ch20 is 5watts with a swing to 12watts on am and a 10watt swing on ssb

I removed the ground i had clipped from the radio chassis to the vfo ground and got 3watts am from 1 1/2watts. ssb is the same 2watts i tuned c711 and c712 again. still low output

I am searching to find a output amplifier for the siltronix 90-3. i have found some info for a little amp. but its for a dds vfo.

im not having any luck yet Does anyone have any ideas i want to buy or make an amplifier to increase the vfo output for my siltronix 90.

So here's the one we developed to put inside a tube-type Browning transmitter.

Eventually my idiot light came on when a customer suggested we just put it in the VFO. That's part of the Siltronix rebuild we do with the digital display and new front panel.

Part of.

Oughta put together a quick how-to for installing it in the VFO. Never got that web page done. But I think we have enough pics to post the procedure here.

Probably ought to put the whole process we use for the digital conversion up in a post.

But one thing at a time. I'll pull together the info for the inside-VFO install the next few days.

Thank You Nomadradio. that sounds great. When i saw that buffer amp I was wondering if it would work with the Tram D201. i guess so if its connected inside the siltronix 90-3 vfo.
