Trombone matching thing on i10K

You know what the sad thing is...
Im actually hoping the guy is a good guy..willing to make the "best" where he can.
As im confident he started out like that and migth still be...

However, i too have seen in the past my "part" of him.
He was telling something that just couldnt be true.
(a google search will probarbly point you in the direction)
When he was told, he just kept on going....
And im not talking about 1 time.

The issue with "us" antenna freaks (and im calculating you all in this hihi)
We cant know all...thats impossible ! And there are always people who know more...always.
So take advantege of that, and share what you do know!

But if your not willing to learn.....when you are beeing directed in the rigth direction..
Or your not willing to debate, the claims made...
If your not willing to ahg...whats the use if one is not willing......

Sadly some have come across so many time the same question, they think they know.
And when they are proven otherwise:

Those tend to show what i call "seagull" behaviour...:
It flies in ...makes alot of noise, leaving "sh*t" all over the place...everybody is astonished.
And it flies away...leaving exactly just that behind.
And those can be found on any social level hihi..

Kind regards,

H>

Henry, I think it has more to do with being stubborn than being a good guy or a bad guy because good guys can be stubborn too. Sometimes good people want to believe in some idea enough that it overrides what could be considered common sense. I've been their too.

I made a mistake when i said this ring is like the sigma 2
Avanti AV-170 "Sigma 5/8" / "Sigma II"
as can be seen the sigma 2 does not seem to have a feed to the circumference of the ring...........un less its a coil inside the fiberglass with 1 end to the center coaxe the other to the top bolt of the ring and a tap to the bottom bolt of the ring ....but in the advertising they say no coils to burn out , so if this is the case how the sigma 2 work then?

Dave, I noticed your mistake when you first made the post, but I didn't think it was worth raising. Now you ask how the Sigma 2 coil works without an obvious tap point.

If you will do a search, here on WWDX, for this topic I think you should be able to find a thread showing pictures. I don't know how much explaining is done in the text, but you will see there is no coil, per se, inside the bottom of this antenna.

BTW, the actual feed point is inside of the bottom of this antenna and I suppose it can also be mounted with a shorter section of mast just like the Starduster of old. That may even serve a similar purpose. The old Sigma 4 also provided instructions in their manual showing a similar install, but it was off to the side a bit. I never hear this discussed, but there must have been a good reason for this.

I refer to this as a bazooka balun idea sorta like a sleeved dipole and you can read something published about that time in 1980, about the idea here, and not just take my word for it: http://www.arrl.org/files/file/Technology/tis/info/pdf/8004019.pdf
