I'd like to look at a thread posted on the CB Radio Talk forum, but I've been permanently banned from there by one of its sponsors, namely Radioactive Radio. The thread link is http://www.cbradiotalk.com/viewtopic.php?p=165360&sid=6e5bb8b542a7101894533278d6d13b0d

If someone could take a peak, and just post a quote of the initial post, I would appreciate it.

The post is supposed to be someone doing a write-up of my idea to take a junk CB and make a spectrum analyzer out of it. I'm curious to see what the person wrote.

POSTED by a guy going as TiP:

Here's an idea that's been kicking around in my head for a while: It's no big secret that one of the most attractive features (at least to me) of the big all-band all-mode radios is a bandscope... But what if I don't want to spend the big money to get a big radio, when all I really want is the bandscope? I'm already salivating over the prospect of seeing the activity on all 40 channels simultaneously
icon_smile.gif

Obviously, to have this capability would be a wondrous thing, but I ask you, is it even possible to build a homebrew bandscope for CB?
and later

Yeah, I sure wish DTB Radio would make another appearance, I could also use his (their?) help on the receive armoring mod too. (Exactly what type of diode is a "common switching diode"? 1N4001? Or ... ??)

A spectrum analyser sounds like it'd work, but that's, y'know, $800 or so; kind of defeats the whole purpose of homebrewing, since if I were lookin' to drop that kind of cash, I'd just buy a big radio that comes with the bandscope.

Not a problem, I had to use a proxy to view it. I think everyone has been banned there at least once.

some forums just hate the truth, cb bullshit is much easier to comprehend than "technical mumbojumbo" so say its many proponents.

some forums just hate the truth, cb bullshit is much easier to comprehend than "technical mumbojumbo" so say its many proponents.

Your right there Bob , but I don't think it's so much the "technical mumbojumbo" it's not that they hate the "truth" (it's understanding it) the cb bullshit "can" be easier to understand then the "mumbojumbo" .......if that makes any sence to you ? a=g-3+xy4 % = "mumbojumbo" for many of us , Replace r27 resistor (on given radio) with a 100 ohm 1 watt resistor and that will fix your problem........that to many tech's would not be there forms of "truth" because it might not put any money in there pockets :(

You as a tech can make it easy or complacate the shit out of it for somebody that doesn't have a clue in the first place. (Although it is more a hobby to me then making a living out of it having to pay a morgage, feed five rug ratts , 3 dogs and my wifes allowance)

If I can help ? I will do so with my limited abilities and lack of "mumbojumbo". I believe in keeping it simple (if I possible can) To some ........my post would be nothing but "mumbojumbo" but that's to be expected. :) Some folks are just looking for a easier ,softer way of understanding things , or better yet , they don't really want to understand in the first place , they just want it to be fixed or work for them.

Now my post here isn't aimed at anybody perticular , it's just the way it is for many and I know nothing about the site in mention. It just seems like there's so many unhappy Forum dwellers all over the place on many Forums of late ? Maybe it's just the way of the world at this time ? Folks just don't seem very content with themselves about to much about anything and it's usually much ado about nothing ........or is it ? Hell if I know ?

Wow, it took them all of 36 hours this time to ban me. I even got an email from Mr RadioActive himself stating "Sir-
If you'd like to join CBRT, I'll be more then happy to discuss
this with you." I replied with "Out of sheer, morbid curiosity, what would your terms be?". We'll see what happens.

I didn't expect this thread to go this direction, but now I'm curious....

Oh, since I can't get back in (again), could someone please take a peak and let me know if they deleted my post on tha thread (or edited it for almost no content)?

i agree its good to help others switch, i know you like me try to help where you can, theres a world of difference between keeping something simple and just making up your own cb science regardless of anybodys reason for doing it.;)

i got a e-mail from radio active thanking me for my comments in the forum.............about 36 hours before i got banned there . ;)

Well, here's the latest in the email thread between RA and I:

Here's a quote from the email to which I referred in my last email:

"By your own admission, you control membership based at least partly on your assumptions of how closely a person is connected with people you may not like, as well as based on your own opinion of what constitutes good or bad practice outside of the forum environment.

Now that you've very clearly and personally demostrated that you are NOT for unbiased and unregulated expression of opinion on your forum (within the confines of general civility, as mentioned before), I agree with you that I don't belong there."

In plain English, here's what that means: since you control the board and base membership (as well as post content) on your own narrow (IMO) standards, I'm no longer interested in joining. IF it were an unbiased forum, I'd still be interested. You've proven beyond any doubt that it isn't, and as long as you control it, it most likely never will be.

I have to ask this. How do you manage to come up with the idea that I still have a strong interest in joining, unless you didn't bother to read all of my last email? As for you making the decision as to whether I join or not, I gathered that from your emails.

Yes, I have been doing that. As I said, I have had dozens of requests to post there. Until your last email, however, I wasn't totally convinced that you were against the complete and total freedom of stating one's opinion in any way they wish (short of profanity, illegal activity, slander/libel, etc), regarldess of whether you agree with it or not. Your last email has convinced me that, since you run this forum, it will never be an unbiased and open forum. By your own admission, you control membership based at least partly on your assumptions of how closely a person is connected with people you may not like, as well as based on your own opinion of what constitutes good or bad practive outside of the forum environment.

Now that you've very clearly and personally demostrated that you are NOT for unbiased and unregulated expression of opinion on your forum (within the confines of general civility, as mentioned before), I agree with you that I don't belong there. Those who have requested me to post there will simply have to browse forums that do NOT block members and edit posts based on the standards you use.

By the way, I wholeheartedly agree with you that differences of opinion "make the world go around". However, your statement (and I quote here) "But you have been well known for slamming shops such as myself and spreading false statements...." begs explanation and examples. As far as I know I have never been guilty of "spreading false statements", and I would welcome your showing me links to any posts or websites on which you've based that accusation (links from my website to other sites which express opinions, such as the blacklist you hate, don't count). I have, however, absolutely been guilty of strongly expressing opinions against shops that I think, based on my electronics education and experience (as well as nearly 100 years of proven AM radio theory), are doing work that is incorrect from a technical standpoint. If you refer to that kind of expression as slamming, then yes, I'm guilty of "slamming".

Ok, gotta close, I was just made aware of someone selling bootleg copies of my copywrited CB-Computer Interface software on Ebay UK. Gotta go take care of that.

Sorry you feel that way-
Confusing why if you felt that way you've tried joining so many times
under different names.
Thank you for your interest if it changes, I'm more then happy to hear you out.
