Once you get past the two questions above if the keying transistor is out here is what they look like. Your amp should have two, one for the pre-amp and one that keys the amp up.
The prime reason for this video is to show how to check the bias on a ts amp, but in the process of doing so it shows how to manually key the amplifier. That should tell you if the keying transistor is bad.
We adopted the habit of adding a 4.7uf or 10uf capacitor from the new keying transistor's emitter to ground. This serves to protect the replacement transistor from overheating and failing like the first one did.
