TS SWEET 16 or TS VIKING 3200

Im not sure if Ben still has that amp he had it posted on another site I mod at. He posted that lastyear so its been awhile. Those that PM me about my amp I sent PM's sent back.

Best way to do this is post in the Swap area that you are looking for 3200

They were rare when they were being built, and have not been made in 40 plus years.
The last one I know of got split apart and half of it rebuilt as a 8 transistor base amp.
The Toshiba's are so expensive, that at one point people were buying every Texas Star amp they could get there hands on just to rob the 2978's out of them.

Sorry to be pessimistic however, forget the Viking. I serviced and built amplifiers for decades and only seen one of these come into the shop. That's because only one person in my area ever purchased one and naturally, it had to come in for service. Their smaller amplifiers were prone to self-oscillation problems. Stuffing that many copies of the same circuit board in one metal cabinet, presents an ideal situation for failure. Very few were made and far less survived the last four decades. They are about as common as a 16-tube D&A Warrior.
 
I have to take this one step further and point out one of my major gripes about Texas Star. I don't think I've ever seen another amplifier attempt to add bias, in the absence of both thermal tracking and any attempt at all, to regulate the bias voltage. These damn things changed their class of operation from when your car is started, to when it's off. Just the change in 12.6 volts to 14.1, shifts their bias completely.

The other gripe, is trying to get away with a 2-pole relay, while switching bias on and off and being completely dependent on a 10 Micro Henry choke to separate RF from bias. Thank God they abandoned that failed method, on any amplifier 8 transistors and up.
