Isn't this radio using the same pc board as the Cobra 146GTL?

Yes same board, but no help. Changed out vr10 (not it) changed out limiter (not it) change out voltage regulator (not it). SSb works great. just that am vr10 nothing when trying to adjust, so dead key it high and dont want to fry radio. Thanks.
Sounds like someone might have jumped voltage to the final bypassing VR10. If you remove VR10 does the radio still have a high dead key? If so that'll be the clue. Search for something that does not look right.
Update on SSB my dummyload light shows modulation, but on AM the light stays bright. No modulation
