I learned the hard way! I sold two items to two gentlemen. Both gentlemen submitted payment for "merchandize" and included a note relating to the item they were buying. Now, PayPal considers me as a "seller", and they are holding payment because I do not have a "seller history" and they also have deducted a service fee for a percentage of the selling price. If they would have submitted payment using "friends and family" and no notes, I would be receiving the total selling price including shipping immediately.

Can you tell PayPal to piss off? Make other arrangements? Hope so.

As if that is not bad enough, the government is going to start tracking these things to make sure they get their cut of income taxes. There is talk about the IRS monitoring peoples bank accounts to ensure they get theirs.

I used f&f for many years buying/selling motorcycle parts. Got burned for $100 when I started buying cb stuff, no recourse with f&f. I did notice that when I paid a member here for service work via f&f, I did get charged a fee, hope I didn't get him screwed up......

The sad part is that a lot of what we buy and sell is used and has already had the tax paid on it.

The govt wants more and more from the ones who have more of a need of it than the govt, that spends millions and millions on things that don't relate to most of us tax payers. I won't get into illegal immigration or foreign aid.

welcome to the future. im not eager to see more but here we are

That's why I no longer buy off of ebay, because Paypal insisted I give them my social security # over my computer. I told them I don't put my # on my computer for anyone, so we parted ways. It's a shame because I did buy a lot of good stuff from ebay. But it seems as if prices have got higher on ebay. I can control what I put on my computer but not others computer.
