Hello Robalo: Ok your description is a little thin. Hard to help out with just one photo. What are the holes in the tubing, are from wear and tear?. Can you give us more info as to what is was doing and when the VSWR was moving around.

I had a Vector 4K 25 years ago, and IIRC there were 2 self tapping screws at the join of each section. Looks like the small holes for the self tapping screws have become elongated with stress of moving around in the wind over the years. This will have shortened the antenna and increased the SWR.

I would either turn each tube 180 degrees and drill 2 new holes in the back of the appropriate size or, go with Shadetrees idea and cut a slice in the end of the tubes and use hose clamps.

She is ready after a lot a work. I used 6.0 x 1.0 mm body mounting bolts she is strong now is to difficult for one person to mount it but I got it

Exactly, 2 simple quick and easy fixes. I vote for slotted tubing and clamps, solid, time tested and will stay put.
