I'm almost sure I can bury the lead (LMR Times 400) into the ground. If I'm correct, will about six inches be ok? I want to be able to have the lawn mowed without having to worry about having the cable chopped to pieces. This shxt was expensive.

The cable for my satellite dish has been buried for 10 yrs no problems with that . How about putting it inside the black tubing they use for water line an sprinkler systems for added protection for what that stuff cost it might be worth it !

I would go at least 10". Could save you major pain and $$$$$

How deep? Deep enough so that lawn mower doesn't 'catch' on it. Deeper isn't all that beneficial, but whatever is convenient.

Also make sure the cable is rated for direct burial. if it is not you may have issues down the road with moisture penetrating the outer insulation and ruining the cable unless you run it in a conduit of some sort.

That's what I'm doing with my Moxon cable. It's cheap to do and if you use at least 3/4 inch tubing you can slide the pl259 right thru it as I will have to do along with the rotator line. The frost prevented me from doing that but it's out now. Good luck! BTW, 6 inches is plenty deep. I am only going 3-4 inches max. The turf grows over and becomes thick. Never see it.
