want caller ID in your bluetooth cb radio ?

You need it in California and many states, since it is illegal to use your cell while driving. I have a bluetooth speaker for the visor, but it causes a lot of noise on my CB.

At least they're trying to do something with bluetooth than just making it a remote speaker/mic. I'd like to see Yaesu and a few others start experimenting with other ways to implement features using their bluetooth stuff.

At least it ain't got those faggoty blue leds, all we need now is a decent export spec radio, with counter and speech processor built in,with decent stability and a quality ssb filter.100w would be nice too.

Is this real? I was wondering when they would allow you to tether the output through blutooth. Imagine the sd slot records conversations while your away, and allows you to play them back.. catching your "friends" raggin on you while your away Ahhahahhahah lol..Another gadget to make someone want to brake in your car.. .They see sd or bt logo its gone

I have one of those Rangers with the Caller ID. It's "OK", but there's not allot you can do to the radio to get much out of it.

The Blue Tooth and caller ID works great tho. And on that radio unlike the Cobra 29 version, you can use whatever Mic you want because the blue tooth has it's own little boom Mic that plugs into the front of the radio, and can be clipped to the sun visor or your shirt collar.

When you get a call, the Caller ID tells ya the number of who's calling, and the rest of the time it shows a 24 hour clock. (Military Time) It will also Ring, and then when you answer the call, it go's from CB Mode, to Cell Phone Mode automatically. Then when you disconnect from the call, it go's back to CB...

It's a good idea, specially since so many City's and States are starting to crack down on talking on the phone while driving...

Problem with the Ranger radio tho is the receive sux IMO...

I do about 70k miles a year with a laptop mounted on my jotto desk in a pick up. I cover all 48 and only drive once a month, but I've never been stopped for my PC.

I will say that I have my Streets and Trips with gps antenna running 24/7, so I'm not sure how they would handle that.
