commonly have QSO's and around what time? My license privileges don't allow me to transmit on the 20 meter band but I'd like to listen and maybe hear some DX stations. My 20 meter dipole is done and mounted and it would be satisfying to see if it works well. Thanks. :D

Activity from the US in SSB will be from 14.150-350. You should hear QSO's almost anytime from anywhere in the world. Just tune around. Have fun.

Amateur bands do not really have hot spots for QSO's. Certain modes may be found on or near certain frequencies but as for voice comms they are scatteted anywhere across the band.

This weekend is the ARRL Int'l Phone DX Contest: Starts 3/7 at 0000Z till 2359Z 3/8. I'm sure you'll hear a lot of DX on 20 (and the other bands too!) during that time. As stated above the US phone band is 14.150 to 14.350 MHz, USB; most of the Int'l DX will be from 14.150 to 14.250. Have fun!

14.230 sstv,, if you have a pc by your radio you can download rx-sstv for free, plug your heahphone/speaker jack from your radio into the mic jack on your pc and start receiving sstv pics. I have been having fun with this mode!!

You will find DX all over the 20 meter band,

also try 17 meters 18.110 to 18.168mhz for phone, you will be able to hear a lot of dx stations there during the contest as the contestants do not use warc bands
