What are the top three US states you hear in DX?

I am located 300 miles north of Montana. It takes awhile for propagation to work its way this far north on 11m. And I mean awhile. Listening to the activity I hear on the 11m SDR on the CT/MA Border, I only get a 10th of that.

Just started hearing some activity on 38LSB. Spoke with 449 in Alaska and a station in Seattle yesterday. And of course, last week with Larry, DXMAN and 4311 in Hawaii. Soooo, Pacific Northwest lately for me.

Skip was rolling big time today. I talked to a bunch of stations from the barefoot base (Uniden PC 122 with Radio Shack Crossbow 1/2 wave, which is just a Shakespeare Big Stick dyed in sky blue) and then several more from the marine mobile (Cherokee AH-100 walkie talkie with a Shakespeare 176-1 marine CB antenna). Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia were big, but I also talked to Texas and Cincinnati, Ohio.

Not a bad day for solar minimum.

I fine tuned my receiver and now I hear all 50 states almost constantly. Rather annoying. So I stopped off at harbor freight and picked up a cheap hammer, beat the crap out my antenna and figured I was golden.

Wrong.

Well played Harbor Freight, well played indeed. I should have known when you said “won’t damage surfaces” what you were really trying to say.

I know this is in the CB section but as a ham I consider anywhere in the north America to be local communication. Hawaii and the rest of the world are DX to me.
With my little bitty KX2 and portable inverted V I have done NZ a few times, HI, then up and down the east coast as well from southern Alberta.
That's qrp, max 12 watts.

From my location in Western NY, I hear mostly the southern states like Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Florida is always crazy strong during skip. When I lived on the gulf coast of Florida back 30 years ago I noticed that I had no problem competing barefoot alongside many of the big guns. I attribute some of that success as being surrounded by salt water if not ground water a few feet below the sand.

Central coast, California.
Mostly been hearing Oregon, Washington, & Arizona. That said I have also been hearing a little from New Mexico, a little from Texas, a few from Nevada, Hawaii, Idaho, & Wyoming.
