at times i get the impression we got license n equipment to use but when we do we are not welcomed to chat. but my opinion n you seem to view like i do as well as six shooterI dont care for nets either. And 2m repeaters around here are stupid with "we dont need ratcheting jawing on here" type folks. 11 meter is just too full of skip here lately so the ones of our group that are hams are trying to use this opportunity to convert a few into hf.
i had one guy tell me that the word hobby is no where in the aarl. its a service. yeah piss off manat times i get the impression we got license n equipment to use but when we do we are not welcomed to chat. but my opinion n you seem to view like i do as well as six shooter
im rolling my eyes very very heavilyGSM or CDMA because of consistent contact chances.
JESUS CHRIST said that NETS are for FISH so I believe HIM.I would recommend at least listening to 40 meters, but considering your distance parameters, mainly during the daylight hours. At least you will get an idea of your area coverage. The MidCars net operates daily from 8:30 AM to 2:00PM EST. It prioritizes mobile check-ins. Membership is not required, although a small membership fee is recommended if you plan on using it frequently. Operators typically check in, make contact with another operator, and then move onto a clear frequency for a QSO or ragchew. Usually relay stations are onboard to help if you are having trouble contacting net control. Listening to MidCars or any other “Cars nets” such as South and EastCars will greatly enhance you knowledge as to what others are using. Talks or comparisons of different 40 meter mobile antennas and mounts are commonly discussed. "Hate nets" I don't have a problem with most of them because I sill can find plenty clear spots. I made many DX contacts on 40 meters. Most of them by running either split or zero - beating inside a foreign broadcast stations AM carrier.
My second choice would be a combo 2 meter- 440 antenna coupled with a duo-band VHF/UHF radio. Repeaters typically cover that distance.
you got that right. im not a person who enjoys waiting my turn on a radio in my home. give call sign n we get back to you shortly. damm i call verizon with a phone problem guarenteed 1 hour wait time n nets are same way not as long a wait but a wait. lifes too short to wait on these thingsJESUS CHRIST said that NETS are for FISH so I believe HIM.
