What is up with drivers and base stations on 19?

19 IS the truckers channel, always has been and I guess it always will be, a rule of respect I suppose. well, some of us understand it.
The older and more considerate operators still recognize 19 as the drivers channel. (I am one)
I always wondered why everyone felt the need to camp on 19 when there were 39 other channels they could use.
Perhaps they wish they had a big motor and could haul a large load? :laugh:

The FCC will not assign any channel to a individual Group of users, but it is well known that 19 is used for interstate travel traffic.......
Even the builders of CB radios know this, that is why most radios have a channel 19 switch on them.
It is just asking for a fight to camp out on 19 and rag chew, many drivers still use it for directions, road reports, smokey reports and so on.
Same goes for you and your two friends, you got 39 other channels to "camp out on", but hey if you want to start hate and discontent on the radio.......
Allow me to show you the door, don`t let it hit you on the way out.
