Contrary to popular belief, LEDs do not last hundreds of thousands of hours and like their older cousins HID, quartz and incandescent, their life span or MTBF are based on an average. Meaning an LED can last 40 hours or 40,000 hours. Oh, and they don't mention that they definitely dim over time.
Biggest burn is yet to come when all of those fancy pants proprietary LED light fixtures on cars burn out and have to be replaced. They are not standardized like fixtures in the trucking industry. Also they're something you'll not find on the shelves at Wally Mart or AutoZone either.
I'd love to see the expression on the face of a customer as they get an LED replacement parts price from the dealer, haha. $$$.$$ BURN.
I predict LED to incandescent replacement kits
