What setup would work better?

Looks like standard Dill Tower.

From the angle, it looks like the top has been modified, but probably just the angle.

Call American Tower in Ohio for info.

Or Dxengineering and ask for a rotor shelf that'll fit Dill Tower. Used to be a dude that made plates for Dill and sold them for $20 years ago.

I think Rohn 25 plates fit as well. Also easy to fab one yourself, if'n you got the skills.

Is this the type of rotor plate your were referring to?

It lays right on top of the rungs. Each corner has cutouts that allow a friction fit to the tower legs. I have used a homemade one like that a loooong time ago. It worked as it should.

Great.
I have to get out my binoculars in the morning and get a better look at the top section. I didn't do the install of the Imax 2K. For some reason the top section of my tower looks very short where the mast comes through.
Very hard to see from 40 feet below.

I found a picture I took this summer of my top section of tower. This was when I had the GPK on my Imax 2000. I had the GPK taken off and had more mast added to raise the height of the Imax 2000.

Looks like 1.5". Should hold want your wanting to install. Keep Imax less than 3' above beam. Don't use thin walled TV mast either. Get some stout gas or well pipe or something.

How low should the rotor be mounted in the tower?
I was thinking like 5 feet below then 3 feet of mast to connect the M103C and then 2 feet of mast to connect to the Imax 2000.

That would work for me. Since the plate rests on the rungs, that will determine how far down you'll go.

Sure would be nice to get a thrust bearing though.
