where / how should I install the antenna on my wife's 2000 Oldsmobile Alero?

this car is similar to the Grand Am

what type of antenna should I run?

ideas for mounts?

she is want it kinda covert, basically it needs to look like it belongs or at least not look tacky, lol

i like the 5k on the roof

have one on my oldsmobile and like the results.
p.s. talking strictly for performance and not the looks.

Top/center of the roof for best results.
Taller and equal amount of metal below the antenna for the best omni-directional result when done that way.
That's for sure . . .

Anything that looks like it belongs on the car will most probably not be too good. I know some trunks have very little space for a trunk lip mount to be installed without cutting into the coax....but if the space between the body and trunk is wide enough a Wilson 1000 or 5000 would be my choice. A Magnet mount Wilson on the roof would work even better.
Why not put a ball mount on the roof and use a 1/2 wave antenna....that's pretty stealth!
