Where the heck is this 3 volt battery located?? I have this mirage 2950EX stripped down and dont see on the board where the hell it is  :?: :!:

its on the back of the display circuit board. under the micro beeper speaker. its black and about the size of a nickle.

the 2nd generation 2950's (orange) used static ram instead of a battery, if you cant find one that prob why.

Carl I think your right this is a mirage 2950EX and theres no gap what so ever to even get a batery in between the 2 circuit boards on the display I looked with a penlight and see no round battery and under the beeper speaker thers just a black pad or cushion. here I bought 2 new batteries but now I can just replace my HF rig batterys so it wasnt a total waste

that was crazy Im like well I know theres one here!! WHERE IS IT???!!!! Wow now that was classic right there.

lol@tony,
this post caught my eye because i had iron in hand changing the batt backup in an old 2950 while reading,
i rebuilt the 2950 from a scrapper/parts radio and swapped it to a local for a broken icom ic703,

took a gamble because the components in the 703 are as tiny as a vx7r, i have repaired the icom now and hes happy with the 2950, it was my lucky day i guess, what a deal very happy :D
