Which CB Shops are still accepting mail-in repairs?

makes me glad I purchased my at6666 .. its every bit as good as any yaesu I own .... xxx
That's a tall statement. What Yaesu's do you own? Is your statement referring to an 11 meter mars (CB) modified at6666 or is it based on it being a 10 meter unmodified (CB) specifically purchased for 10 meter use? Maybe the at6666 is on par (or close to) a very early 1980's (antiquated) Yaesu. But not knowing which Yaesu you're comparing it to it's difficult to read the at6666 reviews and find a outstanding feature which would lead me to believe that it's better than a Yaesu or any Yaesu for that matter. Everyone is definitely entitled to their own opinion, but can you be specific? I would like to read some comparisons between the at6666, and at least one of the yesus' that you're comparing it to. Is the at6666 a true 10 meter transceiver, or is it a black box export built specifically for easy 11 meter modification? I did a quick search on the at6666 and found that many like the compact size. As I read further I didn't find anything that stood out as it being on par or above any Yaesu's operating capabilities. Thanks. 73's

He is a registered sex offender YES. That means that he took a deal. He is still out and doing business. Obviously there wasn't a strong enough case for them to convict him to doing any real time in a jail cell.
what does his sexual preference/orientation got to do with getting my radio up to par ??

I'm confused by your reply. I'm truly curious about which Yaesu you were comparing to the at6666.
I wasn't calling you out on your claim.
I'd just like to know which Yaesu you claim makes the at6666 a better transceiver? Since my question I've been watching some YouTube videos pertaining to the AT 6666 and I have yet to see anything about that transceiver that would make it better than any Yaesu I'm familiar with. Of course I could be wrong. I'm not familiar with every Yaesu ever made, but I am a bit familiar with black box export "10" meter transceivers. From what I've seen so far I'd take almost any Yaesu over an at-6666. Take into consideration I'm talking about a Yaesu that's been (11 meter) Mars modified. Because I doubt any ticket holder would purchase the at6666 for 10 meter use. It's (the at6666) an export CB radio produced and marketed twords the 11 meter crowd. And there's a very good reason for that. It's a fake 10 meter quick mod to 11 transciver. Might as well get a 959 or Stryker.
Even if I didn't have a ticket (which I don't) I've the option of doing some 10-160 listining. And that's the least of what makes almost any Yaesu transceiver heads above an at-6666. Of course I wouldn't have the Wonderful choice of 5 or six different background colors, but that's something I'm not interested in. Then there's the $100-$200 difference between a 5 year old rig and a 20 year old one. But in the end I'd take a 757 (or 5 other choice Yaesu's) over an at6666. I don't think I'm going to get anywhere with this so I said it, and I'm out. Good luck good bless. 73's

the at6666 is not a a.m. monster .but it does very well if so called upon... its forte is ssb .. it has all the feature that enable it to play well with all types of accessories and a very wide frequency range.. I have a plethora of radios and $$$ for $$$ straight out of the box it has given me a excellent return on my in investment.. it is totally spot on ! ! considering its foot print it works perfectly in my 2017 pickup and I don't need to nurse the aging dinosaurs..good luck with your old radios home ...xxx

The Yaesu's especially older ones wouldn't be considered am monsters either. They don't even transmit am. They transmit a double side band signal on the am mode. I don't run a transceiver in the mobile. My only station is at the qth home base.
In all honesty the Stryker in the clip sounds nice but the at6666 sounds excellent.
The only thing that's difficult to discern is weather Scott who is on the at-6666 is the person making the clip. It actually sounds like Scott is actually coming over the same device as the stryker an not coming over a receiver. If it turns out that Scott is being recorded on a receiver that's at his qth just as the driver using the striker then I would have to guess that his voice is being recorded on the receiver and recording device making the clip..
It also doesn't sound like Scott and the gentleman on the striker are actually having a qso on SSB. Do you know if that's the case? If they are on SSB and are being recorded coming over a receiver at a different qth than the one Scott's on I'd have to say that the at6666 sounds better than my above description. They both sound like they're on am. And that's about the best compliment one could get in my opinion while operating on single sideband. If one could get their single sideband audio to sound just as good as it would as if you were on am that's big. The clip is a bit confusing. Do you know if it is Scott who is making the video, and sounds like he does because his voice (audio) is being recorded right in to his iPhone or video camera. If that's the case that it's difficult for me to tell how the at-6666 actually sounds because it's not coming through a receiver. I have not heard an at-6666 on the air. I haven't been on the air in a while, but I do know that at6666 transceivers are quite a few years old. I will be getting some air time in soon. Especially if we get some heavy snow here in NJ. I will keep my ears open for an at6666. I doubt I'd ever consider one myself. I just prefer base station radios as that's where they're being run. That's not the only reason. The real reason is I'm very happy with my Uniden Madison and the fet modification that LooseCannon did to one of my silver eagles. That mic on that transceiver always gets me unsolicited excellent SSB reports. I don't use it on am so I'm not really sure how it sounds there. I am curious and will definitely listen on air for one of those at6666's. 73's

As I mentioned earlier I haven't been on the air in quite some time. And the times that I have been I've just been hanging out on my local channel on the Am side. When on SSB triple one (111 Jojo) NJ. I'll definitely listen for you (xxx) next time on I'm on sideband. I usually like to scan around the free bands but usually check channel 38 LSB first. It's always a good litmus test 4 dx conditions. 73"3

what does his sexual preference/orientation got to do with getting my radio up to par ??
Sexual preferences (gay/straight/bi/trans...whatever else we have nowadays) is one thing.. and I don't disagree. If he/she is a good tech I have no problem paying them for their service. What they do in their own home is not my business BUT I draw the line with pedophilia. Any person that's into kiddie porn and was caught red handed with it. Then didn't deny it...but asked for everyone's forgiveness will absolutely not ever get a dime out of me. It saddened me to hear this come about since Dave IS a good tech. Bought a 2950 few years ago from him and I was pleased. It's not my place to judge him because he will be some day, I just will never do business with him again. To bad...cause good techs are hard to find!!
