which of the new CB/Export radios about to hit the market is the most interesting to you ?
and why ?

i chose the Stryker , mostly because of the comments DTB has made about it and he's involved in testing it .

Don't care for any of them, really. Unfortunately, the last of the good radios were produced in the early 1990's in the Phillipines. Stuff after that is pretty much garbage, and isn't worth buying.

I'm kinda looking forward to the new Uniden model. They have a good track record of producing stable, high quality rigs. No reason to believe that the new one won't follow suit.

I would love a single final AM/SSB, FM not needed, that doesn't drift and will drive an amp as good or better than my Cobra 148s and Grants.

Univercom told me they are working out the deals with a distributor, so they should be available soon I'd think. No idea on MSRP.

Stryker - http://www.strykerradios.com/sr955hpc.html

User manual - http://www.strykerradios.com/sr955hpc.html

Not sure if it comes with the software/programming cable.

On the Stryker, based on some early reports I've heard, MSRP will probably be somewhere around $350 but just rumors so far. Have to wait and see what the dealers will listing them for on the websites.

I agree with Psycho 100% here. The Uniden will be the closest radio to this; however I am not a fan of all the digital crap... give me a radio that has some knobs I can turn and some switches I can switch!

Being that the Uniden is a smaller chassis, I'm going to wager that it's likely SMT, which make it a major pain to do things like unlocking the clarifier and (possibly) modding it for extra frequencies.

The Stryker? Here's my beef. 6 different roger beeps? SIX?? Really? That alone does it for me. Not gonna buy one. 'Nuff said.

The CRE doesn't look awful bad... but it kinda goes back to what Psycho said... a nice single final AM/SSB radio that's easy to use, functional, and stable on SSB would get my cash.

~Cheers~
