Who does quality radio alignment?

I did not think this would be necessary but apparently I was wrong. I got a message from someone that thinks all I have to do is answer emails and phone calls all day and not do any bench work. In the future, if anyone wishes to send work to me try to exercise at least 10 or 15 hrs of patience, if you can't do that then by all means don't waste my time. Nobody in this business is more attentive to the needs of my customers but tonight sitting in the middle of a city that is destroying everything that isn't surrounded by electrically charged fencing I'm not very receptive to such nonsense. I repair and or restore between 35 and 40 radios a month and if any of you suggests that's F**KING around then you clearly never did any radio repairs in your entire life. Sorry, I'm done now.


Will a 72-foot, 40-ton “bulldozer job” do the trick as a swap for an alignment? Turbocharged diesel, excellent gearing, and 1,800-Lbs/Ft Torque!

I’ll tell you my thoughts, Tallman, when it comes to outside the US I can talk to dozens of stations without touching a clarifier. I occasionally run into a bad sounding station, but it’s primarily the US where I hear off freq, gross overmodulation, echo and class C amps. The “freeband” has a way of fixing those problems: no one will respond to you. Often here the only quality that seems to count is signal strength and everyone tends to give flowers no matter how crappy the radio sounds.

I used a third parties as a buffer to eliminate customers from interrupting a normally productive day to talk about their units. Any that did SLIP THROUGH were told I would need a credit card and approval for to charge $35.00 on top of the repair bill. NO free quotes or consultations, and their unit would lose it's place in the Que and would have to start all over from last place. Most would say never mind and hang up. They would ask what ever happened to customer service and I would reply that is a $35.00 question. I made my money by fast turn around and high volume.

I empathize with anyone doing any sort of a business with a front door for customers.

I tried it. Wasn’t for me. I spent more time dealing with people wanting free stuff, discounts, and people trying to peddle stuff than I did taking care of the many good PAYING customers...most of which offered little in the way of complaints.

Had two folks I’ll never forget. One wanted to pay me for servicing his chainsaws with VICODEN. The other wanted to pay for a substantial lumber order with DUCK EGGS.

When I can pay operating expenses in DUCK EGGS AND OPIATE PILLS, let me know.

My first paying job after the Navy was a Television Repair shop. Money was good because now I understood what I was doing. It got to the point where customers would bring a TV in and ask me to work on it. The other techs hated it. But you know if you get known for quality people will follow. My old telephone number still gets calls to repair TV's, dishwasher, washing machines, and dryers.Shut down since 1975 The poor unfortunate that got my old number placed an ad declaring the service was retired.
They still get calls. My advertising was "Word Of Mouth".

He aligned my Galaxy DX 94HP and set the low dead key to 2 watts and the high dead key to 10 watts and it forward modulates almost 120 watts when you turn the power up.
It's the best talking, most clear radio I've ever owned, period. I highly recommend Stu. And, he's a great guy to talk with as well.
Just my 2 cents worth.
