Who knows what this is called?

I’m literally beating my head into the bench top trying to remember what this is called. More importantly, what the tool is called that is used on these AND where to find it.

Somebody help me out here before I black out.

This one is from an AnyTone AT-6666, used to hold the controls in place/against the faceplate. Stryker (of course) uses these also and I can’t remember what they’re called.

They are notch collars and a hook wrench is used. Also called a spanner wrench. Sometime castle nuts use a wrench like this

Oh boy. I see you are having the same problem I had on a 477HPC2. With out the tool they are a Bitch. And I did not have the tool.

I have been using a uh, uh... a pick that's curved on the end. I'm blanks today. Anyway, not hard to hook it and make it turn but I know there's a tool for it.

I was thinking spanner and castle nut but that just didn't seem right to me, thanks NightThumper. Now, off to try to find one super tiny.

No, it's from my fire victim, I was going to attempt to convert it to a 4 pin mic socket but uh, nah.

Forget finding that tool that small. I'll just make my own...

I might have an extra that you're welcome to have, I know years ago I had 2 so the search for it will be on this weekend.

The real problem was tightening it back up.

Correctly, I’d say yes. I got tired of looking for the tool though, probably faster to just make one. It’s not like you can call the factory and say “hey man, how’s bout you send me one of them there funky little tools”. Might as well call it a service manual, seems as hard to get, an actual one anyway.

If that fits the mic socket, I have one. Those nuts on those control shafts is much smaller. I believe I found that one for the mic socket at Ramko…

Oh, well shoot I must have not gotten the whole picture. Was thinking it was the mic jack nut you were talking about. My bad, I should do a better job at reading. I'm told I have selective hearing, maybe reading is the same...

Maybe a pair of needle nose pliers would fit in the notches? That's what I use on the mic jacks.

Possibly if I had a pair that small. Lately it seems everything I need I don’t have and my mind is in 40 places. Plate full, I believe they call it.
