Whoever said good fences make good neighbors, didn't live next to family!

Been awhile since ive been on here, haven't been on the radio either. I still need to switch out my coaxial for my base station but in the meantime Ive been busy with some other projects. Having a 15ft overhang put on the front of my shop and a third bay added to the end of the shop. It's almost finished, I have a few pictures of it when it's finally completed I'll add more pictures. My builder cut his arm pretty bad while installing sheet metal and had to go to the ER so it may be a few more days until everything is finished. 20240904_084359.jpg20240904_084415.jpg20240929_164744.jpg20240929_192234.jpg

Still need a couple of trim pieces and the roof cap. My builder tried, but said it felt like his stitches were about to burst. I told him just wait until you can do it I've waited a yr to have this finished a little longer won't kill me. He also added a 6ft overhang to my bays so it completely covers my camper. Overall I'm happy.

Had a fellow come out to give me an estimate on building a 3 car carport onto my house, a 20ft overhang to the front of my shop including adding a third bay to my boat and camper storage. And a lean-to on the back of the shop running the full length of the shop. All made of metal construction. He hasn't got back to me yet, but I figure it will be a chunk of change. Like I told my wife, we can't take money with us when we die, we might as well spend some of it. I remember my grandparents were always saving money for their old age, they never seemed to realize that they were old. When they passed away they were still saving money for their old age.
Metal structures like that can definitely add up, but they’re built to last and add value to your property. Using Construction Takeoff Services can help you figure out exactly how much material you'll need and give you a ballpark cost before the contractor gets back to you. It's a solid way to ensure you're not overspending!

Started another project, something to block the North wind during the winter months. I'm putting fence panels up , my plan is to trim them out with a cap on the top and paint the top cap and trim black to match my carport post. Planning to use a light colored stain on the fence then treat it all with Thompsons Water Seal. Also will be putting a gate in so we're not walking completely around to access the front yard. Probably putting up Christmas lights tomorrow Yea! (Not really)
