Who's Into SDR Receivers? (the little USB ones)

..refused to give me permission
You've got to run as Super User!
Sudo, the one command to rule them all. It stands for “super user do!” Pronounced like “sue dough” As a Linux system administrator or power user, it's one of the most important commands in your arsenal. Have you ever tried to run a command interminal only to be given “Access Denied?”
I agree it is much easier to use a Windows machine for this.

I used sudo. It refused me anyway. Won't let me delete the blank .rule file. Won't let me edit to insert command line script. Won't let me change permissions. Wont let me overwrite the file.
I even threatened to get my wife involved. She don't play. She quit school in the 3rd grade 'cause they had recess and she don't play. Ubuntu ain't scared of her (not right in the head, I think). Just being unfriendly.
Sticking with the Windows machine to learn this thing.

Been seriously thinking about getting the SDR Play RSP2 PRO. I like metal cased gear. LOL Those of you that have them how do they compare sensitivity wise to your HF rig and what is the performance like on AM broadcast and longwave bands? Also anybody run one with Android software like with a tablet or phone?

I tried the android phone route but got nowhere with it. I seriously don't know what I'm doing with this stuff.
I like metal packages, too. Aluminum antennas and copper wire antennas. Much easier to figure out.

I have ran the RSP-1 with an Android program, and it works pretty well. You need a windows based program to really get the best out of one. Many more features with Sdr Console, HDSDR, etc.

Guys I've found some Android applications, I had saved a them a while back but I figure they are good for the "hamshack Android".

"droidPSK" and can transmit/decode PSK by audio.
"SDR Touch" for SDR devices (like RTL-SDR dongle) connected through USB on-the-go cable.
"HF fax" or the third one is to receive weather charts by audio.

If you like the software, I recommend you make the purchase! (I have)...
(full versions of droidPSK, and Black Cat Systems' HF Fax included.)
You MUST RENAME THE FILE EXTENSION NAME TO ".RAR "
BEFORE 'UNZIPPING' THE ARCHIVE CONTAINING the 3 ".apk" install files.

That's because I can't upload a Rar archive with the proper file name extension, it wouldn't allow me to upload the file with the correct spelling, I guess that's a prohibited file type?

~Cheers!~
