Wolf River Coils

Ah yes the old days...back in the separate transmitter and receiver crystal controlled days.
Had the old Heathkit HX-11 transmitter and Allied receiver...and worked Denmark on 15m with maybe 15 watts/CW...yea working those DX countries with a cigar box full of transmit crystals.
Call CQ on whatever crystal you had...then tune up and down the band 4 or 5 KC's either side to see if anyone answered you...because they were "Rock Bound" also...Fun Stuff
Old Heathkit DX-20's DX-40's...Johnson Adventurer...Heathkit HW-16... etc...
Still have a lot of those cards here someplace...The OLD Novice License days!:whistle::ROFLMAO:

PS: The D4 guys were most likely shacking the station down getting ready for the contest this weekend. They have some REAL GOOD ears right there in the water off the coast of Africa(y)
