Wolfman CB shop (D-Rail) price gouging

First time poster here. I have read lots of posts across this forum in the past to help me gain knowledge on certain things, but just made an account yesterday. I actually HAVE a Stryker 447 done by D-rail. I know it's hard to guage what his radios sound like if you don't believe his videos. I know he has long wait times- I'm assuming he has his prices jacked because it keeps him from being flooded with customers. Even @ these $1000+ price points, he can still have like a month or two lead time. If he cut his prices to $600 you would never be able to order anything. He is a nationwide shipper with lots of fan-fare, working out of a small little shop after all. Basic laws of supply and demand. If you want a basic budget radio- I have ordered several things from Bell's CB also and if you are trying to just get a budget build he is my top pick. He ships crazy fast too, it truly is mind blowing. I have spoke to Mr. Bell and D-rail both over the phone and they are both very nice and professional. But ya, I actually have a youtube video where I RECORD my D-Rail radio over the air. I have had multiple stock radios over the years and know what they sound like, personally I think this d-rail sounds DARN good. I'll put the link in here to my over-the-air clip. I don't know if the link will work but I'll drop it. If it doesnt work then just YouTube search "my d-rail radio over the air"

D-Rail sure loves to price gouge. He wants $650 for a stock Stryker 955HPC+, it comes with a *FREE* tune. It's sad to see CB shops like that trying to rip people off. Zero excuse for D-Rail trying to take advantage of customers like that.

Way better deals from these shops.
Mars = conversion to enable 11 meter band (CB band).
It takes longer to remove radio cover than it does to solder the two pads together to complete the Mars conversion on Stryker 955HPC+.

The "Tune" is a scam. Don't purchase radios from anyone who "tunes" radios.

I hear you man. It just has a unique sound and I dig it. I've heard it back to back with my other stryker 447 (that is basically stock) and the d-rail stryker def has more bass. Its just a toy for me. I have no wife to stop me from getting my kicks so all of my expenditures go 100% unchecked LOL. I saw your comment on the YouTube vid, I would love to hear a video sample of your President Lincoln II+ radio. Those things are sweet looking radios!! My President Jerry (that I recorded the video on) is the first President I have owned, and I am very pleased with it so far.

DR is in my local area. Know personally. Nice guy and does great work. His shop is right off an Interstate Exit. Family business started by his dad and has been around for decades now. They cater to on-the-spot work for truckers coming by and sales & service for the locals and now internet customers is the sideline.
The Truckin' crowd and the Old School CB'ers is ALL about BIG BLASTIN' AM and that's the way it is. They have little to do with hams or SSB. DR has latched onto the same mods that other guys are doing that I think came out of California ala "Jay In The Mohave" You change a few capacitors and resistors in the audio chain and make some adjustments and you get that Big Full FM Broadcast Sound. You either love that kind or sound or you don't. DR is extremely qualified and has all the necessary bench equipment and everything is done to sound clean and great both on the Scopes and over the air.
The ONLY deal is that he is simply charging what the market will bear like everyone else. Professional Bench Work is running $70 an hour wherever you look.
Plumber, HVAC, Electrician ?? All at around $70 an hour right now. He's simply doing a Professional Service for a Professional Rate.
Can you find anyone else doing same or better work for less ? Good for you !! Use them !!
Me? ...... lol ..... I'm one of those who can't afford him. I've never bought anything from him nor had him do any work for me but I WOULD take a radio to him or buy one from him IF I needed to or was pressed to for a reason and not have any worries about it ..... I would just be cringing when it came time to pay the bill.
D Rail is A-Okay
