X Force incredible screw up

Are the chokes on the input transformer soldered to ground. I cant tell from the pic if they are grounded or if he may have ran them to a bias supply under the board. I hid all the goodies under the board on the amp I biased so it doesn't look much different on the top side. I really can't imaging them taking the time to do that though.

I'm guessing by the fact that you can see the heat sink showing through the extra transistor cut-outs, the answer to that question is likely that the only thing under the board is the heat sink

You're probably right but I drilled through the board and heatsink to bring the bias supply wires to the input transformers. Regulator and switching transistor are mounted to the fins of the heatsink. The main giveaway in my amp is the tracking diode across the pills. I still really doubt they took the time to do anything like that.

Looks very much to me that they are grounded, like all class c comp amps.
If they are selling these as class b amps it is a rip off, plain and simple.
Yes, for years the "clone" Palomar,Boomer,Green Lizard,Black Cat,and others have been selling amps with the front label saying AB on them, but we all know better.
Deception : We Got IT
The unfair X Force Advantage.

Xforce needs to address this issue...........

I made the mistake of emailing xforce . About an amp for my stryker 955 hp.Never again .

Hopefully people will read this thread and write off X Force as a possible choice.

I just back from breakfast with some locals and one of them has an Xforce 800HD which he bought directly from XForce last year. It works OK but he said the resistor across the final output combiner kept burning up. He called Xforce when they actually answered their phones and they sent him a 5 watt resistor to replace the 1 or 2 watt resistor that was on it. X Force told him either pay for the shipping to their shop or do this fix. Sounds like the company is using Goober and Gomer to assemble their amps.

It is truly a shame as they were once a Decent amp! My 600hd works great and has no problem on both am or ssb. It truly is a shame that they are cutting corners like this. Not good for business at all.

How long ago was this amp bought? While you might take X Force off the list. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Fatboy. I have had several by here of late. Been having issues with the transformers reading all over the place. IE seems they are all different mixes or mismatched.

Have a friend who also bought a TNT 600HD a few months back, and something happened to it...he sent it back to them for a repair and when he got it back he said they charged him 50 bucks for it and the amp still wasn't repaired.....

He said he then sent it out to BBI and had it fixed and had a few other things changed in it, and says it works good for him now....

I had talked to one of the forum members over on there forum awhile back and he told me Carl wasn't there at XF anymore, and he sold out to one of the guys who worked there...

I have read on other forums about problems guys are havinwith the amps...

I've saw newer TNT amps that were biased just like the old magna force line was. I would hope they aren't stupid enough to try and pass these off as biased amps but who knows. I'd be willing to bet one of the solder jockeys lost his connect the dots book.

They should know why that resistor is running hot and address that issue first.
