XFORCE 60012HD

My point was that people over drive the piss out of these amps then blame the amp for blowing. The other part is a joke. The people that know what I speak of know the meaning of it. That is all.

They are top shelf compared to a Fatboy.
Arlyn at Xforce is shit, his customer service sucks, he never returns email or calls, he just took
me for $1400 + ..Bought a 2x8 FEB16TH, sent him 2 emails the last 2 months and called him once...calls me back with bullshit and won't refund my money, and don't have the amp

X-Force has been done building and taking orders for quite some time. Back in the day they built nice amplifiers, my favorite were the red case colored Magna Force class B amps. I think it's been over a year since you could order anything off their web site. I always hate to hear about someone getting shafted like you did. Hope you can get things figured out. Good luck.

I think I agree. this is the second one I got in for repair. First was a x80 with 2 2290 finals gone, then this one right after with all 2879 finals gone. For a high drive it didn't take much to blow all these parts. Ron
My question is are or WERE they REAL toshibas to start with? I didnt think you can mix toshiba/hg/dei pills in an amp. I thought it was one or the other.
This is why im staying far away from pill amps. Can't trust parts any more.

I have an X-Force base box and it's been good to me. It originally started as a 2x4, but I removed the driver section and made it a straight 4. Has Toshiba 2879's in it. Drives full output with about 60-70W PEP input. I re-biased it to class AB. 12.2V power supply.

My 400-12 HD was good for what it was.
It had good points and bad points.
Onboard thermal shut down, and it did have bias on the transistors

I roasted the bridge rectifier s in it one time, Carl shipped me a complete new set for no charge. He always answered my questions when I called and it was built with original 2879 transistors.
It ran extremely high volts on the power supply.
I had it on the high taps on the transformers.
Had 2 massive transformers in it and 2 very large filter caps that pulled a ungodly amount of current when you fired it up.

ASW,

It's been a hot minute since I've owned that amp, sold that a long time ago to a buddy of mine. Wish I had it back, although these days I run a T/S 667V that's heavily modified by me. I use it maybe 1% of the time...

~Cheers~

i haven't been around much so here's a few belated words, if that makes any sense.!
i have used a tnt350hd on 10 meters built by carl and or his staff for 10 years more or less. I don't over drive it and keep the amp output at about 100 watts at times a little more depending on modulation and I talk all over the usa and the world when mother nature is on my side. all the ham operators comment on how clean the transmission sounds. the thing is to keep your radio tuned properly as a clean signal into the amp that is not over driven should deliver a clean signal out. enjoy the hobby.
