Yaesu FT1000MP or Icom 7300

So, if you could pick up either one of these radios for "near as makes no difference" which one would you go for?

The electrolytics have all been gone through on the Yaesu.

Personaly i prefer yaesu but thats my opinion

Bearing in mind the age difference and repair parts availability ......... all other things being equal.
the 1000MP is by far a superior radio.

The rx on the 7300 is wide as a "barn door" and easily overloaded

That is very common and false opinion claimed by those, who do not get how SDR works and why it have rfgain knob.

According to Sherwood tests
IC-7300 noise floor -133dBm 94dB narrow spaced dynamic range (2kHz)
FT-1000MP MKV noise floor -133dBm 69dB narrow spaced dynamic range (2kHz)
is clearly visible which radio is wide as barn door. 25dB is just a knock out.

Someone might say, that lab test digits are not enough, there is a real life situation.

Unless their policy has changed from 10 years ago Yaesu will not support discontinued
models.
I needed a part for a FT-840 & even though they still had it in stock at Cypress CA.
the gent on the phone told me they were not allowed to sell it as the radio was discontinued.Fortunately I found what I needed on Ebay & got the radio working.
