The AM receiver in this rig doesn't seem to be very sensitive. If I try to use a regular VHF/UHF antenna to RX AM broadcast, I don't hear that much. If I switch to a more suitable antenna for AM broadcast, it seems to work better (go figure).

That's not uncommon the mediumwave rx sucks without a coat hanger or antenna not for vhf
I thought the op was talking about am airband...lols
