Yaesu VX-8r Review

Trying to enhance a used VX-8DR to the extent possible, given the lack of available parts. I did manage to find the BU-1 chip, which enables bluetooth, and the BH-1 bluetooth headset. First question is about the waterproof "curtain" that covers the BU-1. So, to insert the BU-1, you need to peel back the curtain, which of course defeats some if not all of the waterproof seal. The original instructions say you replace it with the new one supplied with the BU-1 Unit. Well, that is ancient history - no way the used one would come with a new curtain - but I don't really need a new one - just need to reapply some kind of sealant/glue.
Question: what kind of sealant/glue should I use?

Not silicone; you'll never get it off. I'd just try something basic like rubber cement that you can get off with a razor blade if needed.
