I don't think anyone has to trap animals for a living to make ends meet today and the way I see it any one who is a man would go out and hunt this animal and shoot it with a gun if he needed it so bad because he appearently has plenty time on his hands.

I believe if someone is breaking the posting rules in a particular section that individual should be dealt with and the mods should'nt throw a blanket over the whole problem instead of dealing with that individual, now that's called being a man.

The topic of trapping is NOT a problem on the forum the topic of selling traps in the for sale section is NOT a problem, the topic of replying to ANY topic in the for sale section that is NOT directly related to the sale of said item is the problem.

To me it seems that with only 5 posts to your user name that you are HIDING behind a second forum identity and not letting everyone know who you really are! BE A MAN!!!!

Being a man is one thing I suppose ? and I do understand what you were talking about on this thread in the first place and it went from that to beating animals to death with hammers .....no pun intended. A few months back "we" were having the same problem with negative responces from members on members posts trying to sell there goods , you personally put it to a vote with the members to keep the posting the same in that section as long as the negativity would stop from others (Strike 1)...it mellowed out for a while and then started back up again a month or so later and then you decided to put it to another vote again ????? (Strike 2) and now this situation that has occured (Strike 3) IM really not sure what being a man has anything to do with this ? but I would think after all of this nonsence that it would all just go to PM'ing the sellers and doing it that way ...it would certainly steer clear from the negative remarks from others and the aftermath of threads like these. I personally don't think there's any more room for a vote here ........drop the hammer and be done with it .....you have been fair enough as I see it.

Don't assume you know how the trap was or was not set

:shock: You didnt describe how the trap was set. For all i know if could have been hooked to a bear and he was draging it around.

The trapper simply chose to be lazy and not take the longer way around to tend his traps.I have a good idea who it was but no proof and the lazy part fits him

Did it come to mind that their was a flood? How would the trapper get out to the trap. And i Quote you

The road could have well been flooded out and the trapper couldnt have gotten over to it. BUT if that wasnt the case then i would have to agree with you. But if prices were the way they are now i dought he would have left the coon. Unless like you stated he was to "lazy". And as for the foot traps. Foot traps do not cause and stress to the fur. It is on his foot. Now if you use a Snare if might rub the hair off of the animal which you dont want. i for one am all for the foot traps. It saves time and you dont have to replace it like snare (if they are all beaten out of shape)

That was my point about not assuming how the trap was set.The trapper could have taken the longer way around which would have added about 1/2 an hour to his day.There would be no driving to any trap set up where it was so he would have to walk either way he went,just that one way was a bit longer than the other.The river forms a giant U shape with a 180 degree bend.There is a road bridge across the bottom of the U which was not flooded.Several woods roads lead up and around the river bend that could have been taken.Again my beef is not with trapping.Just that with any trap line it should be tended regularly.I see your point regarding damage to the hide but I also see the point about the animals suffering for days on end until they are put down by some other means than starvation.Bottom line as I see it is if you want to trap then fine go ahead.Just be responsible enough to tend the traps regularily.

Boy you really are paranoid and can't take critisism very well and who ever these names you come up with are not me but I stand behind what I said that if you deal with the people who make the offence you won't anger the rest of the masses but you're gonna find out that alot of people don't care for what you believe in such as trapping as a hobbie or sport.

I my self hunt but not trap and belive in the constitution of these United States of America and I won't be run over by you or anyone else here so if you feel I'm who you say then why hav'nt you banned me yet? I'm just curious what the US Constitution has to do with anything related to this site. While it is a very nice doccument, it doesn't apply to private websites, which have a right to allow or disallow content as their owner and his or her designee(s) see fit.

with that said,,,,,,,,,, I myself trapped when I was in high school,,,I trapped a racoon in a foot trap. I had beat this poor thing to death with a bat and actually seen tears from this animal

From that day on I could not trap anymore,,,
