Your furthest contact .

My farthest to date way about 2 years ago before moving to this home I made contact with a USAF Airman stationed at Ramstein Air Force Base in Rhineland Germany on 27.755 LSB. That was by far my farthest as I haven't gotten out of the states since other than Hawaii and Mexico. By the way that was base to base from Chicago with about 500 watts on my side.

Tokyo Japan this spring. Although I'm still thinking it might be a hoax/prankster. My station got hailed and I just sat there in disbelief. By the time I responded he was gone. Have never heard that station again. At the time I was working Germany and Italy on the beam.

Long path to the west coast of australia. Gearldton I think is how it was spelled. He was running a 10 element quad on a 80 ft boom at 100 ft up. I was pointed east and expected turning west would bring his signal up but it all but went away. He was pointed west and me east. About 13000 miles. A pic of his antenna is online on shack pix. He was only running 40 watts. Heres his antenna

I cut my power from 400 watts to 100 and still no issues. I was hitting his station harder than he was me and he stated that he needed a antenna like this to ever get to the states from his part of the OZ and that it was common for stations over here to hit him harder than the other way around. I was using a 5 element maco.
