That took me back a few years to my golden days of CB. I wonder what a video showing the state of CB as it exists today would be like.
Great film! Funny thing is that if a severe emergency took place today and the cell phone towers and landlines went out, CB would still be the only communication available for the average citizen! Ever try to find a pay phone nowadays?
Good point, but after the sun sets I can often reach CB operators 5 to 30 miles out via ground wave, especially when using sideband!Ever try to talk to someone more than a mile away when the skip is running 10 over 9? Years ago I wa returning from vacation in New England. long story short but there was a major fatal MVA in rural New Brunswick and the truck driver that hit the two cars could not get anywhere on his CB because of skip conditions. A couple cars left to go to a phone. I used my 2m HT to contact another operator who called 911 and remained on the air with me until EMS and police arrived.
