ROHN 25 setup help/tips??

It's not rocket science. A couple of the proper sized U-bolts and a piece or two of 1/8 steel or 1/4 inch aluminum plate and a drill bit is all it takes. If you cannot figure it out from there...............

Would it be back to back U bolts or just one and fab a bracket.. I really don't know.

Found this place with custom pipe..

$30..

6" of 2" od with 1.5" ID to slide into the 2" mast.. then 18" of 1.5" OD (0.120" wall thickness) to slide into that.

I would bolt and mig weld it.. then put A99 on that with factory U bolt.

Overkill maybe??

Would schedule 40 1.5" ID with 1.90" OD accomplish the same thing as fast as mating with a 2" mast pipe??

Didn't think to ask what the ID was.of 2" mast pipe.. duh..

So this is a 2 pk of these for $26.. with 2 stacked on the A99 mounting point to the 2" mast I should be gtg.. Thanks Capt.. nice wide surface area..

What about an Alliance U110 rotor (rated at 5 sq ft load) $200 and just a 1 3/8" mast for the setup..

3 element Maco or Sirio and the A99..

Right around 5 sq ft total..

Then I could use a different 'rocket top' that fits the smaller mast better using the TB50 bushing..

I really don't see me going larger up top..

The A99 would then bolt right on the 1 1/4 - 1 3/8" mast without issue..

I made a hazer for my Rohn 25 I bought a Yaesu rotor thrust bearing and my 100.00 rotor has worked for almost 2 years. A bearing is well worth the price paid to save a rotor. I have a 4 element Maco flat side and an IMAX on top. Works great.in case your wondering the hazer rides up and down the tower with a winch and cable.

I bought my tower used, has the rocket top that your talking about. I poured a full yard of concrete and reinforced. 40’ free standing

Have you checked American tower sections on E-bay I bought my tilt base section and put it in the ground.

Is that a 1 1/4" mast or 2"? And which rotor did you have on it??

1 1/4 mast galvanized electrical from the Depot 10’ section the threaded one.and the rotor is a chanelmaster. The rotor keeps working but I will change it out for a Yaesu when it does. It wasn’t easy to align and mount the mast rotor and bearing. It was binding until I got it straight

I mounted the Maco vertical at first along with my dual band beam for 2 and 70 cm. I like it better flat side with the IMAX vertical on top.

Is that one 10' section or is that 2 with a threaded coupler??

If I remember right, I used a 10’ section and the IMAX is mounted above the Maco with a small section of The TV antenna mast pipe that Radio Shack was selling. I had it laying around and it’s somewhat strong and light. I think I cut the 10’ section back to 8’ because of the small rotor. And the TV mast fits inside.

40’ tower called for a hole 3’x3’ and 4 ft deep. Stone in the bottom for drainage and reinforced one full yard of concrete 60 x 80 lb bags but it was cheaper to but it mixed and delivered. She doesn’t move when windy. Check craigs list. There was a bunch of towers in my area. Someone had 4 ea 100 ft towers on the ground for 2,500.00. One nice 80’ crank up ham moving to Florida
