Well, no . . . thats not always true. Some tube radios don't sound near as good as the Yaesu 101 series... IMHO :roll: I have researched this (ham radio's) for over a year about what radio's sound best on AM. I think I am just about as confused now as ever. I did make a good decision...

It does depend on the mode and the radio but for AM I like the D104 but the Shure 444D is really good too. I'm sure both are okay for SSB too.... Also, a Sadelta mc-3 is a good one too if you like a little echo.
