Alright, I thought I had to mess with the female pins on the radio and do it in a way that involved me to have to see where the 4 pin went to 5 pin.

I noticed if I pull the plug out just right the tx lamp will be red, but my meters go crazy. :/

Rewiring the mic's gonna be a little hard though, because of the DIN plug converter. I could figure out the wiring on the mic and on the radio, but as for taking the plug apart too see the wires, I don't think I can do it as it is one piece.

I had also thought that if it were the pinout wiring, that it wouldn't work in any of the modes, when it seems fine on am. I could see how it's tne switching though

I guess it makes since. I was just thinking because I could transmit and what not. I was making 100% shure that was the problem before I tore my mic up.

The stock mic works perfectly on it yes. The Turner works on AM fine as well. On SSB however, the turner can recieve, and transmit. So wouldn't that mean the wires are good? When it transmits on SSB is where the problem is. that's where the meter goes all the way over without me even talking and...

Wait a minute though, I don't think the wiring is wrong because it works fine on am keep in mind. I think space cowboy's got a point

Yeah, the end of my mic plug is the standard four prong. My converter changes the end to a 5 prong din plug, wich is what my radio takes. My radio also does have the cobra 146gtl board. Btw the mic transmitted when it was NOT keyed and recieved when I keyec (in other words it was the opposite)...

Alright, looks like I'm gonna have to re wire my mic then :/ btw how do set my picture that appears beside my name on the threads? thanks :D

Oh, I had forgot to mention that I tried another mic with the converter. It worked just fine, only problem is the mic was electronic switching when the sears uses relay.

Actually, I didn't get my turner online. I got it orginal with box from a family member. I don't think it's been tampered with.

I take it you're using it as a base station? thats what I'm doing with my roadtalker 40. It's a mobile, but I have an old robyn SX - 12 power converter base module. So it seems your + 2 works fine huh? do you have to use a prong converter for your mic? I was thinking the mic pinout converter I'm...

Also, the mic does modulate without me even talking on SSB and rf meter goes all the way over with a little hum sound and the radio dies out. I don't think it's the radio though because it's fine with the stock mic to answer w9cll.
