I have been hearing broadcast type pirate transmissions in the 6.900 to 7.000 mhz range, but surprisingly not much pirate 2 way comms like 6.6 mhz is in europe. Is there a reason for this? Alot of equipment is capable of these frequencies.
Been doing alot of listening lately and thought id ask.

I have been doing a lot of listening on the 6.0 - 7.0MHz range as well as 3.2 - 3.5MHz, 25-26.965...

lot's of interesting stuff, several USB weather stations around 6.6MHz, mostlikley, 26.010MHz and 26.1335MHz have a weird signal, s9 on AM, with almost no static, when you switch to LSB you can hear a 'swoosh' 'swoosh' 'swoosh' sound that repeats, but on LSB it does not move the needle, BUT on AM the carrier is there, BUT you can just barely here the 'swoosh' sound, but JUST barely

not much going on from 3.2 - 3.5MHz but I still listen

That is the main freq. area currently used by North American "entertainment" pirate stations. 6955 is the most used freq. It is not uncommon to hear pirate ops chit chatting amongst themselves on occasion. Just something to do. Saturday night is most common time to hear station programs being aired but they can occur anytime.

The "shortwave" pirate hobby has their own websites which you can find with google

6925 KHz has been quite active for the past few years as a free radio frequency.

Most of the North American EC crowd went silent after 9/11.
