Haha, strip club.

The store didn’t flood. It was alright until the power went off and then they knocked down the doors and had at it. Bad thing is that’s not the first store in that area to suffer that fate and not during a storm.

I agree on the justice thing...

Hey TheRealPorckchop,

Rec. this email from Oath Keepers. For them to request Non- Oath Keeper / Non- Ex Miltary / Non- Ex police this must be pretty wild there. My last email from them stated they were going to serve escort guard for Cajun Navy and only Oath Keepers who are vetted legal Concealed Carry and former Military or Police.

Call to Action: Need Volunteers for
Anti-Looter Security Operation
in Sneads Ferry, NC

ALERT! We need volunteers to assist in a critical armed security operation against looters in the area around Sneads Ferry, NC (NON-OATH KEEPERS WELCOME).

This is an Oath Keepers lead operation, but you do not have to be an Oath Keepers member to volunteer for this mission. Other patriotic groups and individuals are welcome to assist. You will, however, be carefully vetted.

Oath Keepers has been asked to provide armed security to protect a community that was devastated by Hurricane Florence, and since has been victimized by repeated, systemic looting, by organized looters who come across the flooded areas in boats to raid homes. We are putting a stop to the looting, but we need your help. If you can come to help in person, please do! Start rolling now! (see below for instructions and directions).

If you cannot come in person, then please donate to support those who can. This is a critical mission, squarely within our skillset, and something that we can do better than anyone else. Please help support this operation.

DONATE HERE

We have been formally invited in by the community leadership, with full support of the community, and with full support of the local Sheriff, to do this armed security operation. The goal is to preserve life. We know, from experience, that looters who will raid unoccupied homes will then become emboldened and will start to conduct home invasions. We will nip this in the bud before they get to that point. From our experience, our presence alone usually serves as an effective deterrence.

We are operating under the rule of law, and will be complying with all North Carolina state laws and all local ordinances, with full cooperation with local law enforcement. You will be expected to use only reasonable, lawful force, pursuant to established use of force doctrine for self defense and defense of others. You will be expected to work through the full use of force continuum, i.e. presence, voice commands, empty hand, less than lethal (pepper spray, batons, etc), with lethal force only used in response to lethal force, as last resort in defense of yourself or others. Again, from our experience, our presence alone tends to provide an effective deterrence.

You must be trained, competent and safe with your firearm, and preferably also trained in the use of non-lethal methods. You will be vetted carefully to determine if you are qualified for this operation. Please bring with you any certification or documentation you have to support your training and experience. If it is determined you are not qualified to serve in the security detail you will be assigned non-security duties such as distribution of food, water, medical supplies, etc, clearing downed trees, or otherwise assisting the community.

If you do not believe you are qualified to serve on the security detail, please do come anyway as we do need you for other duties. We will find a job for you to do. Count on it! Many hands make light work.

All volunteers are instructed to do the following:

  1. Email us a copy of your drivers license and CCW if you have one, to: hurricaneflorence@oathkeepers.org, and give us your name, phone number, estimated ETA and how long you expect to be able to stay. Please provide vehicle description and license plate number. Please also provide a list of firearms you will bring, and any special equipment. If you are bringing others with you, please provide their personal info as well in the same email. If you have any formal training and qualifications pertinent to this mission, please tell us (keep it short and sweet!). Bring hard copies of any training certificates, DD214, etc you may have. That will make it easier to vet you.
  2. Proceed immediately to the rally point at: Safe House Tactical, 1961 NC HWY 172, Sneads Ferry, NC 28460 (910)327-1282 (we prefer that you arrive during daylight, but if you roll in after dark, please call us at 252-503-0206.
  3. Any critical questions, please call us at 252-503-0206. Please DO NOT call the store to ask questions about operation. Only call them if you need directions to store. The email you send is for documentation, but for timely response, please call the above Oath Keepers operations phone number.
  4. When you arrive at the rally point (Safe House Tactical store), park your vehicle in the parking lot, leave your gear in the vehicle, but bring your paper-work, and knock on the door marked 105. You will then be vetted, in-processed, and assigned to a team. Only then will you be directed to our actual operational area for the security mission in a nearby community.
CRITICAL GEAR FOR SECURITY OPERATION:
Handgun in secure, quality holster. 2 spare magazines in secure mag pouches on the belt. Be prepared to carry either open carry or concealed.

Long gun, if you have one. Either a rifle or shotgun, or both if have both. If you have a shotgun, please bring it! All long guns must have a flashlight attached. If you don’t have a dedicated light attached to your long gun, bring it anyway, along with a flashlight, and we will find a way to attach it. For semi-auto rifles, bring at least seven mags in appropriate magazine pouches and carry system (i.e. chest rig or battle belt).

IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit). Must contain tourniquet, combat gauze, pressure bandage, cellox, etc to stop bleeding.

Hand-held flashlight. You must have a separate flashlight to use in your hand. The area of operation is dark, with less than 25% of the homes having power. You cannot use your weapon light as a flashlight. It is a weapon with a flashlight on it, to aid in actually shooting. It is NOT a flashlight with a weapon attached. That is why you need a separate hand held flashlight to use to see.

Non-lethal methods – pepper spray, baton, tasers, etc. (if you have them, bring them, especially pepper spray)

Rain gear. Be prepared to work in all weather.

Sleeping cot/air mattress, and tarp and/or tent, and sleeping bag. Be prepared to sleep in your vehicle or in a parking lot, or in an open field. We have access to showers and restrooms, but we will be camping outside. Be flexible. Cots are highly recommended.

Radios: If you have FRS or Ham radios, bring them. Bring spare batteries. If you have spare radios, bring them.

Whistles. Used for signaling/communications.

Hydration system or canteens. Be prepared to keep yourself hydrated. We have water filters. Just need containers.

Eye protection. And tactical ear protection, i.e. Peltors, if you have them.

Plate carriers and rifle plates if you have them. Recommended.

Soft body armor if you have it.

Binoculars, spotting scopes, night vision, or FLIR (thermal) if you have them. Please bring them!

Spot lights, and/or flood lights (hand-held spot lights that plug into cigaret lighter, or contractor flood lights on stands).

Fire-extinguishers

Anything else you need to sustain yourself outdoors at night.

FOR NON-SECURITY VOLUNTEERS (OR FOR SECURITY VOLUNTEERS WHO ALSO WANT TO BRING THESE ITEMS)
Bring chain saws, hand saws, axes, etc. to clear downed trees and brush.

Demolition tools, such as sledge hammers, shovels, picks, etc.

Generators

Anti-mold fluid, bleach, etc (anything for mold clean up and mitigation)

Rubber gloves, face masks, respirators, Tyvex suits, etc.

Bristle brooms, rakes, mops, and other clean up tools and articles

If you can donate any such tools, please bring them.

If you are unable to come, you can pay for a chainsaw, or other tools at a Home Depot near you and then designate it for pickup at the Home Depot located in Jacksonville, NC, store #3655, 479 Western Blvd Hwy 17. Scott Dunn, Oath Keepers team leader, will pick up donated tools or supplies. Please let us know at this email address if you have purchased tools or other supplies for us to pick up in Jacksonville. hurricaneflorence@oathkeepers.org

MEDICAL
If you are trained medical personnel, please come and bring all your gear. We need you! See above directions to rally point. Roll out and call us to let us know you are coming.

And, again, if you cannot make it in person, please donate to support our mission.

We MUST have financial support to sustain this operation.

DONATE HERE

Thank you for your support!

God bless,

Oath Keepers

I remember Hurricane Ivan and people started pulling out guns at a gas station because of some silly argument about who's next in line.

People wanted to stay and protect their stuff I can understand that - but wow.

I hear so many times the ignorance of the parents - leaving their kids in a car, to be baked, broiled alive - but the excuses of leaving them in such a position was always seemed led with a "I forgot"...because of so-n-so...

I guess this is the new norm...

Instead of a wolf - pack feeding off the lame in the flock...We now have advanced to the level of Facebook and Media Enterprises where we can watch them doing their best to show us how we thin our own herd.

It can generate a whiplash, backlash - preying upon our empathy and sympathy. We only can tolerate so much and then our reserves run out.

Eventually we as a society will become numb to it - What Were Once Vices - Are Now Habits - Doobie Brothers did that album - full circle to now...

Oh sure the Impotent Rage will stream from the Liberal Media telling us it is just darn wrong to defend your own property, our national borders, and sovereign state. Only to try and get you to blindly follow like sheep into den of wolves to be eaten. So I prefer to defend my personal property and properties of others that may not be able to defend themselves. I should hope the people of NC and SC effected by this storm are able to defend their property and selves from looters, thieves, and vermin of the like.

I do understand some do not have the testicle fortitude to take out the garbage. It is a learned trait gained by being in the situations. I have had people go blindly among the streets of NO and never see what is around them until it either happens or is blatantly pointed out.

It is a fact that we are animals, some refuse to realize until the are pushed, beaten, robbed, or had persons taken from us by the afore mentioned vermin.

Thin the Herd.

Nothing wrong with locking your house up and having cameras.

Few years ago I replaced the floats in the front of my dump, the big wide floatation wheels you see on dump trucks now. The tires are $950 each for a Michelin. The wheels (or rims depending on where you are) are roughly $500 each. I replaced the wheels. Brought the old ones home, they were slightly warped, sat them in front of my garage for “the time being”.

Well, crackhead pulls up in my drive while I’m in the bathroom, knocks on the door. By the time I get to the door I see them backing out my driveway. I was like wtf was that all about, then I noticed one wheel was missing.

Turned up at the recycling place, sold for scrap aluminum most likely to buy drugs.

This day and time you have to just about lock up your dog and it’s poo cause people will steal anything.

This reminds me of a thread on a BBQ forum I'm a member of. someone had an old cheap but still working grill they wanted to get rid of, they had it out at the end of the driveway with a sign that said "free" for a couple weeks and nobody took it. Someone on the forum suggested that they change the sign to "for sale $20", they did and that same night someone stole it.

That’s funny but terrible at the same time and that’s the world we live in.

Around here they will just bust the top off of it for the aluminum. Then you are stuck with a grill that nobody would steal.
